About

Madeline Thorne is a freak at heart. An illustrated, abridged version of Dracula was the first chapter book they ever read, and even at the age of seven they could not comprehend why the vampire had to die in the end. Frolo and Jafar catalyzed a lifelong fascination with villains and restraint, and the discovery of lurid Gothic pulp literature like V.C. Andrews’ Dollanganger Saga in their early teens cemented their unending devotion to dark, steamy, taboo trash. Formerly a professional freelance ghostwriter, they are happy now to spend their time scribbling their own stories and proudly publishing them under their own (pen) name.

They’ve lived all over the Western United States, but have at last settled in the heart of the country with one cat, one dog, and one human they love very much. When they are not scribbling, they can be found making creepy art, reading trash, hoarding books that they will read someday, and pretending they are a hedge witch while poking around in the garden and trying not to scream when they inevitably encounter earwigs.

Welcome to my home. Come and go as you please, but leave something of the happiness you bring.
